Charity Flag

On a Saturday, I saw someone selling charity stickers again. Growing up they always do it on Sunday. I have heard that they used to give out little "flags" instead of stickers. You put some change in their box and they would give a little flag that can be pinned on your clothes. Yet, growing up I only saw the stickers in Hong Kong - I guess it would be fun to see a flag again from time to time.

Old Time Convenience Store

This is an old time little store in my childhood's neighborhood. They sell friuts, snacks, drinks - somewhat like what a Circle K or a 7-Eleven would sell, except that they don't open for long hours and they have much less variety of stuff. Anyhow, if my memory serves, this little store has been here for almost 30 years. At one point, the store owners was still a young couple, but now they both have grey hair :)

Old Style Grocery Store

Like a typical grocery store of its type, it has a variety of stuff - from can foods, traditional condiments, drinks, to even toliet papers (rolls hung on top, left.)...

Handbag Lady

The other day I bought several handbags from this lady (on the left), a street vendor in Wanchai. All her bags are less than US$2.50 each!

The Shoe Repairman

I went to him the other day to fix a pair of shoes. It took him 45 minutes and it costed US$4.00. Not bad.

Hong Kong Labour Day Demonstration

That day, I took this one from the window of my apartment.

The store keeper in a tranditional herbal pharmacy is holding a scale to weight the herb and dividing them into equal portions (on the table).
